Thank you, Jim McTaggart.

Thank you, Jim,for taking us under your wing when we first came to Rebel’s Isle, thirty years ago. We were well-meaning but slightly wrong-headed amateurs fresh from the city. You were a patient grandfather to us. You listened politely to our plans and gently over time set us straight. I have to say the hose and clamp plumbing system you installed served us well for many years, even though it was a writhing den of water spouting snakes, an intricate network of leaks and sprays looking for a time to happen. But if, one day, you hadn’t said, “Paul, when are you going to put in a proper system and stop bathing in the lake?!!” who knows how long it would have taken us to catch on? And if you hadn’t shooed us inside like a pair of truant kids and lectured us on lightning who knows if we’d still be here to think about you? Jim, I’m grateful to have known you and I’ve missed you ever since you left the lake. And I know I’m just one of many who are saddened by the news of your passing. If a persons life is measured by the memouries left behind yours was a full and worthy one. Have fun in heaven, don’t forget to write.
