I'm Paul Grissom, a semi-retired advertising creative who writes for a hobby. I like to fish, paddle my kayak, draw and paint, accompany my folk-singing self on an ancient Goya G-17. I build rustic furniture of dubious quality, and I am a Webermeister. This blog is a random collection of journal entries I've kept over the years since we bought Rebel's Isle.

Friends have long been after me to publish them but I could never see why the world needs more of such a well covered area. I get it now. My stories may be well worn subjects but they’re as different as the lakes we love and the cottages that dot their shores. So in the belief that we cottagers have an endless appetite for stories about the things we share no matter how many times they’ve been told around the camp fire, I’m tossing on another log.

I'm also turning this into a book, although that's hard because the story has a beginning, but no middle, and if I have my way it will not end for a long time.

The people I write about are real, the stories only somewhat fictionalized  (never let the facts get in the way of a good story) and while I poke fun at some of them here and there I hope everyone sees that in the end the joke is usually on me.

Thanks for reading, and please feel free to share it with a friend.
